We looked at redesigning the user experience of the Blinkbox iPad app. The app needed an experience and design which was more easy to use, with a more professionally designed user interface. Making use of big imagery and material design principles with shadows, the final outcome is an immersive and easy to use design.
Use of full screen imagery to show off the main film characters, with touch points to view the trailer, scroll down for more info and clear and colourful ‘rent’ or ‘buy’ buttons.
Main featured films are shown in a slideshow at the top and then a selection of films can be scrolled through with a side swipe.
This shows the more detailed info for your selected film. The user can click the heart icon to add the film to a wishlist and the genres can be clicked on to view more films in that genre.
A custom video player has been designed with ease of use in mind and transparent layers.
All of the main genres and sections are displayed in a clear layout. Whenever new releases are added, a small icon depicts the number of updates since the app was last opened.
A popup box displays all of your account info in one place to access the different areas.
An overview of the films you have selected and downloaded to watch.
We hope you enjoyed your movie
